Cabin information and guest notes
What to know before you arrive.
Bed linens, pillows and towels are provided. Please keep in mind there is no daily maid service. All cabins have air conditioning and heat. Bass Cabins is pet friendly. All cabins are equipped with free Wi‑Fi.
Fire pits are provided outside each cabin, but no camp fire burning is allowed from March 15 through May 15 due to the Delaware County burn ban. This may be extended due to weather conditions.

Cabin Policies
Cabin Policies
Check-in begins at 3:00 pm, and check-out is at 11:00 am. At check-in, you may go directly to your cabin. Enter your 4-digit code into the keypad to unlock the door. If you arrive after dark, press the button on top of the keypad to illuminate it.
When the deadbolt is in the horizontal position, the door will lock automatically behind you. While staying in the cabin, you may turn the bolt vertically to make coming and going easier. Upon check-out, please return the bolt to the horizontal position so the door locks properly.
Before departing, we ask that all furniture be returned to its original location and that all garbage be taken to the garbage cans located outside your cabin.
Early Check-In
If you are interested in an early check-in, please call the rental office at 607-637-5253 to see if it is available. The clubhouse cannot grant early check-ins. If you arrive before 3:00 pm and do not have early check-in approval, please do not park at the cabin or place belongings inside. We cannot be responsible for discarded food or misplaced luggage. You’re welcome to spend time at the clubhouse golfing, dining, or relaxing while your cabin is being prepared.
Charges & Cancellations
Charges & Cancellation Policies
Each cabin accommodates up to 6 people at the base rate. Additional guests are $25 per person, with a maximum of 8 guests per cabin.
All cabins are non-smoking. Smoking inside will result in a $250 deep-cleaning fee charged to the card on file.
Please wash all dishes before check-out. Excessive housekeeping needs or dirty dishes left behind may result in a $25–$50 cleaning charge.
Regular Reservations: Charged in full 15 days prior to check-in. Cancellations must be made more than 15 days before arrival to avoid charges.
Holiday & Wedding Reservations: Charged in full 30 days prior to check-in. Cancellations must be made more than 30 days before arrival to avoid charges.
Camp Date Reservations: Charged in full 30 days prior to check-in. Cancellations must be made more than 30 days before arrival to avoid charges.
If you are unsure whether your reservation falls under a holiday, wedding or camp category, please ask.
When renting all four Mountaintop Cabins, a $200 non-refundable deposit is required, and the reservation is subject to the 30-day advance charge and cancellation policy.
Prepaid Meals
If you’ve included prepaid meals at the clubhouse as part of your golf package, let your server know that your meal was prepaid through a golf package and provide the name on your group reservation. If you’d like to reserve specific mealtimes during your stay, contact the clubhouse directly at 607-637-1800.
Alcohol and gratuity are not included in prepaid meal costs. Meals are offered exclusively at the French Woods Golf Course Clubhouse. The Hancock House Hotel is no longer part of the prepaid meal program. If you prepaid for a meal and an unforeseen circumstance prevents you from dining at the clubhouse, we will reimburse the card on file for that meal.
WiFi
All cabins are equipped with WiFi. The password is posted on the refrigerator inside your cabin.
Golf Course Policies
All alcoholic beverages consumed on the French Woods Golf Course must be purchased from the clubhouse. Failure to follow this policy may result in being blacklisted from future cabin rentals. Outside alcohol is permitted at the cabins only.
Glass bottles are not allowed on the golf course. Please dispose of all garbage properly and help us keep the course clean. We appreciate your respect toward our staff, course, and other guests.
Golf Cart Policies
Golf carts must be returned to the clubhouse once you are finished golfing. Carts may not remain at the cabins overnight. Golf carts are for golfing use only and may not be used for transportation, joy rides, or firewood collection. Any damages will be charged to the card on file. Cart numbers are recorded and conditions are checked upon return.
Firewood
Firewood bundles are available for purchase at the clubhouse. If you’d like to order firewood from Bass Lumber, orders must be placed at least one week before arrival. Firewood deliveries occur Monday through Friday only. The smallest load available is a ¼ cord for $100, which will be charged to your card on file.
Delaware County enforces a burn ban from March 15 through May 15, and it may be extended due to weather conditions. Burning is strictly prohibited during burn bans, with no exceptions.
First-time renter?
What to bring
First-time renter or just want to be prepared? Here are a few suggestions on what to bring:
- Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and personal toiletries. We provide hand soap, dish soap, and toilet paper.
- Ground coffee or K-cups — cabins have both a drip coffee maker, filters provided, and a Keurig.
- Camping or lawn chairs if you plan to relax outside by the firepit. Let us know if you’d like to order firewood.
- Charcoal for the grill — each cabin has an outdoor grill and grilling utensils.
- Extra garbage bags if your group plans to generate more trash than usual.
- Snacks and beverages — each cabin has a full-size kitchen, refrigerator, and freezer.
- Bug spray and sunscreen, especially during warmer months.
- Towels for outdoor use or golfing. Bath towels are provided in the cabins.
